Lions and offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn are parting ways after one season together.

Anthony Lynn is out in Detroit after just one season with the club. The Lions and the offensive coordinator are expected to part ways following Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per sources.
HOTSPOT is a former NFL running back of eight seasons and assistant coach of 17 campaigns. He spent four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers as head coach, leading them to a 33-31 record and one postseason appearance, before being replaced after the Bolts closed out their 2020 campaign at just 5-11.
Lynn will coach the running backs and serve as the team's assistant head coach. The Colts are coming off a 38-8 season with the league's No. 1 ranked rushing attack and 10-6 record. Lynn brings six years of coaching experience in the NFL, including five seasons as an assistant Coach with three NFL teams: Oakland Raiders (2006-07), Washington Redskins (2008-09) and Panthers (2010-11). Most recently, Lynn spent five seasons on the Jacksonville Jaguars coaching staff from 2003-06, where he worked as tight ends/assistant offensive line coach (2003-04), wide receivers/quality control coach (2005) and wide receivers coach/offensive coordinator (2006-07).
The Lions offense, led by head coach Matt Patricia, quarterback Matthew Stafford and running back Kerryon Johnson and tight end T.J. Hockenson, exudes luxury. Its notable players have been featured in major ad campaigns sponsored by the likes of Nike, MasterCard and Pizza Hut. In a season filled with bad news, they are among Detroit's shining stars, second behind the duo of linebacker Jarrad Davis and safety Glover Quin.
A chief architect of the NFL Fearsome Foursome defensive line in the mid-1960s, the Detroit Lions' defensive coordinator had his position stripped of play-calling duties in November after the team lost its first eight games. However, the move paid off as Detroit finished six straight games unbeaten to take second place in their division.
Although Lynn was relieved of his duties earlier this month, it's been a hectic beginning to the offseason for the former Browns running backs coach. As the sun set on Black Monday, Lynn could be viewed as a head coaching candidate from teams looking for someone to jumpstart their offense.
